Spring is Here

Spring is finally here! Our trees are starting to bloom and our grass is green. The boys and I played outside for awhile before lunch while Brian cut the grass. We watched Brian, read books, and had snacks.

Because it was such a sunny and warm day, we headed out to McFee Park after Carter's nap so Brian could check out the cool new park we've been going to a lot lately.

Carter is getting really good at climbing all sorts of things. The playground at McFee Park has a thick layer of rubberized mulch so I've felt comfortable letting Carter try out things on his own.

We met Erin with her little boy Cooper at McFee Park yesterday afternoon for awhile. It was much colder yesterday so the boys had the playground to themselves most of the time we were there.

Carter is finally starting to go down slides again (he's not been a fan of them lately).

But this is how he goes down slides most of the time ...

I'm always trying to find new activities for Carter to do around the house. I found a paint with water book the other day and Carter loves it. As soon as he's done with one page, he asks for more. I think he'd finish the entire book in one sitting if I let him!

Teeth Grinding

This little cutie has started grinding his front teeth. It is the most awful sound! I'm now remembering how much Carter used to do it too. I hope Rylan gets over it soon!

Gym Bugs

Amy and I took the kiddos to Gym Bugs today. Carter found the tambourines and drum sticks right away and it took most of the hour before he was willing to put them down.

Carter put his boots on the other day and posed for a cute picture!

Carter likes playing with his Little Mister doctor set ...

And sitting in small plastic boxes ...

Rylan is finally starting to get up on to his knees when he's on his belly. But his legs then pop out from underneath him and he scoots back. He's not moving forward at all yet - he just spins and goes backwards. Lately he's been getting stuck under things ...

Carter's World

Carter got ahold of my camera a few times today and took a couple hundred pictures. He had so much fun. Here's a little sample of the world according to Carter:

Screamer

Rylan is going through a screaming stage while eating right now:

Charlotte's BFF

Charlotte has a new best friend.

Carter has officially been replaced.

Rylan loves watching Charlotte and laughing at her. Sometimes he and Charlotte will lay facing each other and she'll put up with Rylan smacking her in the face and grabbing at her paws.

Home Depot Kids Workshop

Home Depot has a building workshop for kids, much like the one we go to at Lowe's all the time. Home Depot only does theirs on the first Saturday of the month and since Lowe's wasn't having a workshop today we decided to try out the one at Home Depot.

Today's workshop was a race car, similar to the one we made at Lowe's last week.

Carter got an orange apron to go along with his red one from Lowe's.

Working on adding a wheel ...

When the kids complete the workshop, they get a pin to put on their apron (Lowe's does patches which I haven't sewn on yet).

Carter had fun and now has 2 race cars to play with!

Tired Boy

After putting Rylan down for a nap, I sat on the couch and read books with Carter for awhile. Rylan sounded like he was waking up so I got up to get him but he settled back down. On my way back to the couch, I stopped in the office to talk to Brian for a minute. When I got back to Carter, this is what I found ...

He was snoring loudly and when I picked him up there was a huge drool spot on the couch.

Carter has NEVER done this before. He'll occasionally fall asleep when we're holding him but never in a random spot like this.

"Torturing" Rylan

Grandma's Visit

I haven't been taking many pictures this week, but the boys have been getting to spend a ton of time with the grandma. I've been getting lots of stuff done, like doctor and dentist appointments, vet visits, errands, and cleaning, while the boys spend some time with my mom. It's been super helpful to have her here right now.

Today we went to Toddler Storytime at the library and then to Anchor Park with Amy and her kids. Carter spent a lot of time playing by himself in the giant sandbox but eventually played with his buddy, Caitlyn.

Amy and I got to catch up a little bit and we all enjoyed the beautiful spring weather we are having!
