White Christmas

It snowed here some on Christmas Day but snowed even more the day after Christmas.

My mom and Brian took Carter out for a little bit on Sunday (the 26th) while Rylan and I stayed in and undecorated our tree which had become a fire hazard with how dry it was.

6 Months Old

Happy 1/2 Birthday, Sweet Baby!

Green Beans are Yummy!

Rylan really liked trying green beans today. There was only one yucky face for just a few seconds on the first bite and then Rylan quickly ate the rest of the bowl.

So far I've been making all of Rylan's food. I made all of Carter's too and when I finally tried some packaged baby food, he refused to eat it. So far it hasn't been difficult to make and freeze the extra food for Rylan.

Here are some cute pictures from today's meal ...

Playdate w/ MG

Sarah and her family are in town for the holidays so Sarah and Mary Grace came over for a playdate today. Carter and Mary Grace did a great job playing together while Sarah and I got to catch up and play with Rylan.

Carter was so excited that when I told him Mary Grace had just pulled into the driveway, he started screaming and ran to the front windows to look for her. We REALLY miss our friends!!!

Christmas Crafts

I tried really hard this year to do lots of Christmas activities with Carter. December can be such a fun month.

We're planning on having a second tree next year upstairs that will be the kids' tree. It'll be where we hang all their ornaments they make in school.

When Brian was out of town and we were expecting snow, I bought a ton of craft supplies and got Carter started on making his own ornaments. Some turned out really nice and others not so much, but he participated in making all of them and usually had fun doing it!

For this craft we used the Crayola air dry clay and used Christmas cookie cutters to cut out shapes. Carter then decorated the ornaments with sequins.

Carter made some reindeer with wooden clothes pins.

We tried to make some ornaments with beads and pipe cleaners.

Carter was awesome at putting beads on the pipe cleaners ...

But after he'd get about 15 on, it was more fun to take them off than to complete the project so these never got made.

My mom helped Carter make some ornaments too ...

They also painted ...

And I forgot to post these pictures before of Carter helping me decorate a little tree we put up. He did a great job putting the ornaments on the tree but again they all got hung on the string of beads ...

Presents!!!

Santa already stopped by our house and dropped off presents for the boys. I think we're going to be opening presents all day tomorrow! And this is just what's from us, Santa, and my mom to the boys and our presents to and from my mom!

I'm so excited for Carter to see the train table in the morning! I'm not sure I'm going to be able to sleep :) Actually, Rylan has been taking care of that lately and I'm sure he'll be up again a lot tonight!

Merry Christmas!!!

Holiday Festival of Lights

Tonight we went over to the Cove at Concord Park to view the Holiday Festival of Lights. The 3/4 mile trail is lined with displays with thousands of lights. The festival is also free which makes it even better!

It was really, really cold tonight but we bundled the boys up and it was fun. We got to the Cove right at 6 pm when the displays get lit. There were only a few other people there and it was nice getting to enjoy the lights without any crowds.

I tried taking some pictures and was surprised with how well they turned out considering it was dark!

The fisherman was one of my favorites ...

Carter's favorite was the train. Brian even took him back to see it while my mom and I took Rylan to the car after we saw everything!

This tree has thousands and thousands of lights. It's beautiful!

The fire at the halfway point was much appreciated ...

The "farm" was also pretty cool ...

More Holiday Express

My mom and I took the boys down to the UT Gardens again today for the Holiday Express. It was really crowded, but Carter still had a lot of fun looking at all the trains with my mom.

The UT train ...

A couple of attempts at pictures of me with my boys ...

Carter and my mom ...

We stayed about an hour but I think Carter would have been happy staying all day!
