Last Day

Rylan had his last day of preschool today.

We aren't 100% sure where he is going to be next year.  Most likely he will be doing a private transitional kindergarten.  The program we got him in to is regulated by Williamson County and counts as kindergarten (students can then proceed to first grade or do kindergarten in the public school system).  If we don't do that program, Rylan will go to kindergarten.  We are going to re-evaluate Rylan's maturity at the end of summer to make the final decision then.

Rylan did fine this year though I still don't like his teacher and feel he had a mediocre year again at our preschool.  I'm glad to be moving on.  He had fun this year though and has made lots of new friends so I'm glad for that.

Bring on summer!!!

Carter - End of Baseball

Carter was supposed to have his last baseball game of the season yesterday but he got rained out.  We aren't sure if the game will be made up but the team went ahead and met to receive their participation trophies.

The trophies are pretty cool.  Unlike soccer that always gives out the exact same trophy every season, the baseball ones have always been different so far.

There are all levels of ability and different personalities on this team but we love this group of kids!!!

Fire Pit

We finally made dinner over the firepit tonight.  Brian and Rylan had one fire earlier in the spring but this was a first fire for the entire family.

We roasted hot dogs and made smores (with giant marshmallows).  Yummy!

Charlotte tried to force Carter to share :)

Strawberry Picking

Brian's parents are visiting for a few days.  Carter had school today but Rylan did not so we wanted to find something fun to do that Carter wouldn't be too upset about missing out on.

We decided to go strawberry picking since Carter would at least get to partake in the eating of what we picked.

We decided to try out Pantall Fruit and Vegetable Farm in Spring Hill.  The farm is just down the road from where we kennel Charlotte when we go out of town.  We were a little skeptical as we drove down the drive but were surprised to find the place packed and a ton of strawberries.

Rylan did a great job picking only ripe berries and being very gentle with them.  The weather was perfect too - mostly cloudy with a good breeze.  We all had fun picking and it was something none of us had done in a very long time (and Rylan had never done).

We ended up with a little under 5 lbs of strawberries (which cost $12).  I thought the boys would finish the strawberries today but luckily they only ate a little more than half (I'm sure they will be gone by tomorrow night though).

Running

Since Carter is officially a runner now, I decided we should go for a jog this afternoon after school since we actually didn't have any commitments.  My plan was to go for a 2 mile jog on the greenway and then play on the playground at Crockett Park for a bit.  I was going to push Rylan and Grayson in the stroller.

However, Rylan decided he wanted to run too.  He ended up doing over a mile of the run (he took some breaks in the stroller).  I was super impressed!

We aren't the fastest as a group, but we did the two miles in 23 minutes.  Not too bad :)

Thighs

Check out those thighs!!!

I get so many comments on Grayson's thighs.  Everyone just wants to pinch them.  And the crazy thing is that they are so much smaller than Rylan's were at this age!!!

Dugout Award

Carter got his second dugout award at his baseball game on Thursday.  Carter cheered for every single player on his team, every time they batted, and for the entire time they batted.  I don't know how he still had a voice left after the game.  As usual, Carter decided he wanted something and he did everything he could to achieve it.  I love this kid's dedication!!!

Apples

Grayson tried his first fruit today - apples.  I know I can buy natural applesauce but I decided to make it today.  I still haven't found anything this boy won't eat!!!
