Abigail's Birthday

Abigail, one of Carter's classmates, had a birthday party tonight at Monkey's Treehouse. About half of his class was there as well as a few other kids. This was the first time we'd been to Monkey's Treehouse but it's been recommended to us by several people as a great place to take the kids.

There is a treehouse there, as expected ...

The party started at 5:30 and Brian was still at work then so I brought Rylan along. The normal hours are only to 5 pm so only the kids invited to the party were there. Rylan was able to play too since not all the kids showed up that were paid for.

Here is Rylan playing with Sophie, the other redhead in Carter's class ...

Carter found a work hat and tool box (which he added to his grocery cart of fruit and vegetables) ...

Sarah Kate joined in on the construction fun ...

Rylan had the most fun climbing on and off this table and sitting on it like he was "King of the Mountain" ...

The kids got a piece of pizza for dinner ...

Scarecrows

Yesterday I met Missy and her twin sister Heather at Cheekwood with all our boys to see the scarecrows that they put up for the month of October. It was another beautiful fall day. It's still warm (in the 80s) but it's cool in the mornings and the sun has been shining all day long.

We got there a little early so Carter checked out some of the scarecrows first on his own. I asked him if I could take his picture with one and then he wanted to hold each one's hand so I could take a photo of him with it.

The scarecrows are made by businesses, organizations, and families so they are all unique (and often a little weird).

When Missy got there with Will and Luke, we went over to the train section. Will and Carter ran and ran and ran around the area as they were turning on each train. Rylan also loved seeing the trains but was a bit slower having to hold on to the fencing to walk (he'll still sometimes take some steps between Brian and me but hasn't made any major progress yet).

Heather had to drop off her daughter at preschool and got there a little later with Dowden.

All the boys (minus baby Luke) ...

After awhile we decided to walk around a bit and enjoy the grounds and see some more scarecrows.

This was one of my favorite scarecrows ...

I think Will and Carter liked this one the best ...

After a couple of hours we headed out and went to Heather's house for lunch. She lives adjust to Cheekwood and the boys enjoyed playing in the driveway and on the playset. I really miss having a place for the boys to play where we live. But with how quick they've been building our house, it won't be that long!

Lucky Ladd Farms

It was beautiful here on Sunday so we took the boys to Lucky Ladd Farms.

The petting farm area was awesome. We bought a bag of feed and got to feed llamas, goats, ducks, chickens, a calf, and sheep. Carter wasn't scared of any of the animals and let them eat out of his hand. Rylan loved standing at the fence and the animals kept coming up to him thinking he had food.

There was a conveyer that you could send some food up to a goat on this platform ...

There was a ton of fun stuff for the kids to do at the farm.

There was a GIANT box of corn ...

Brian took Rylan down one of the slides ...

Carter refused to go on the slide so I also took Rylan down ...

There was a hay maze for the kids ...

There were tractors to climb on ...

Carter loved the barrel train. He turned the steering wheel to the left the entire time (I think he thought he was driving). He did awesome and stayed seated the entire ride.

Rylan watched Carter from the backpack ...

We took a hayride (with no hay) through the back of the farm ...

There were these neat horse tire swings ...

It took Carter awhile to figure out how to bounce on these, but once he did, he had fun ...

There was a small pumpkin patch and Carter picked out a pumpkin to take home ...

Before we left we went through the corn maze. We didn't do the whole thing because we were tired. We ended up finding the entrance after awhile and exited that way.

I love fall and visiting farms is one of my favorite parts!

Sleeping Through the Night

Finally, Rylan has been sleeping through the night for the past couple of weeks. He still will wake up and cry for a minute sometimes a couple of times during the night, but that's been it lately.

Thank goodness because I've been working part time for the last month and staying up way too late to get work done. Working has been causing me to slack a bit on blogging. I'm hoping to be finished up with this project soon so I have naps and evenings back to get everything else around the apartment done (like cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc).
