Warm Weather
We are getting spoiled with some beautiful weather. I think yesterday was in the 50s and today was in the 60s. The warm weather is supposed to last all week. I'm getting the boys out to play as much as possible!
I got a new lens for my camera and here are a few pictures that I took yesterday with it. I'm still figuring it out, but I love it already!

Stomach Bug
We cannot get well in this house. Now it's the stomach bug.
So 3 weeks ago Rylan and I had a nasty 24-48 hour virus that caused us both to have fevers and act pretty puny. Then about 10 days ago the boys and I got a cold that gave us runny noses and an annoying cough. We are all still coughing but our noses are starting to clear up. Brian has had a bit of it too, but not as bad.
And now we've had a stomach bug. We were out of town Sunday and I started throwing up around 3 pm. Luckily we were at a park at the time letting Carter play on a playground so I was able to hide behind a tree. We decided to head home after I threw up a few more times. It was a very long ride home as I had to make Brian pull over several times on the interstate so I could throw up.
We made it home right at bedtime. Luckily the boys were both tired enough to go straight to sleep so I could too. Rylan got up around 11 pm and 4:30 am to feed. I struggled through the first feeding and by the second one I was feeling a little better.
Unfortunately, when Rylan woke up again around 6 am, his crib was soaked. Now he had the stomach bug. I thought I was feeling okay but as soon as I had gotten out of bed to get Carter when he woke up at 5:30 am, I knew that Brian was going to have to stay home and help me out.
Brian is amazing and took care of sick Rylan and Carter all morning while I stayed in bed. Rylan went through about every outfit we have for him and Brian got thrown up on at least a couple of times.
By lunchtime I was well enough to start helping out and Brian was able to get a little work done during Carter's nap.
We had been in contact with the nurse at our pediatrician's office during the day and when we called around 4 pm because Rylan hadn't had a wet diaper all day, they decided it was best for us to head down to Children's Hospital to have Rylan checked out.
Even though I still wasn't feeling well, I decided to take Rylan down on my own. He still nurses and refuses to take a bottle so Brian taking him wasn't an option. Plus Brian was worried that the stomach bug might hit him at any time and it seemed to make the most sense for him to stay home with Carter.
The triage nurse gave Rylan a dose of Zofran right when we got to the hospital and that seemed to finally help. Rylan stopped throwing up and was finally keeping some breast milk down.
Isn't Rylan cute in his extra-small hospital gown? He doesn't even look sick!

Rylan still has a cough from our never-ending cold and the doctor heard some wheezing when checking him out. So she ordered a chest x-ray for him to rule out pneumonia and a breathing treatment.
To do the x-ray, they put Rylan on a board and strapped down his legs. Then I had to hold his arms over his head. Rylan was not a big fan of this and there were plenty of tears but we got through it.
Then someone from the respiratory department came to our room and did a breathing treatment with albuterol. Again, Rylan didn't love having the mask held over his face, but we got through it.
The doctor checked Rylan after the breathing treatment and he sounded better. Also, she was able to rule out pneumonia on the x-ray. Since Rylan didn't throw up while we were at the hospital, the doctor sent us home with prescriptions for Zofran and an albuterol inhaler. We ended up being there only about 2 hours.
We got home around bedtime so I nursed Rylan and put him to bed. I also went to bed and only had to get up once to feed Rylan all night. They had given Rylan a dose of Motrin before we left the hospital because he had a fever of 100.9 F so that may of helped him sleep.
The nurse at our pediatrician's office called us back this morning to check on Rylan. I told her about discovering Rylan's wheezing while at the hospital and that Carter's cough is so much worse than Rylan's. She suggested we bring Carter in to have him checked out too. So we went in and luckily he is just fine.
Rylan was doing great all day and I was even feeding him some oatmeal and applesauce but then he threw up this afternoon again. We gave him a dose of Zofran and he's been okay since.
My biggest concern for him right now is that my milk supply is EXTREMELY low. I was already taking Reglan to help up my supply but getting so dehydrated and not being able to eat has completely messed me up. I'm still having trouble eating but I've been downing tons water and Gatorade. Rylan is getting something because he had a few wet diapers today. Hopefully my body figures this out soon because we've been trying to give Rylan Pedialyte and we've only been successful once (with just 1 oz). Rylan just cries when we try to give him a bottle and refuses to suck on it.
Hopefully we all get better soon! The stomach bug, the flu, and everything else seems to be hitting this area really hard right now. I really hope that we don't catch something else - we need a break!

Still Sick
We cannot kick this cold. The boys still have a nasty cough and running noses. Their cough is starting to sound a little more broken up and their noses are running less but they are still too sick to be around other kids. I about went crazy keeping the boys isolated at home all week. We had to cancel a few playdates and avoid our weekly storytime classes.
Carter actually threw up in the car yesterday (thankfully it was just a little bit) and then majorly in his crib last night around 10:30 pm. He ate very little today so I'm not sure if he was feeling bad or just instinctively knew not to eat because he might throw up again. He acted normal otherwise today and played with his normal amount of energy.
I'm still trying to get over my cold and Brian now has a touch of it too. He's lucky enough though that he can take cold medicine. I can't wait to not be pregnant or nursing so I can start taking medicine too - it's been more than 3 years!

Rylan Playing
Rylan is starting to play more with toys. He got this Silly Town for Christmas and played with it for the first time today. I took some pictures and video with my phone so the quality isn't great, but you can see how well he's playing and sitting (I kept my foot behind him to help him from tumbling backwards or to one side).

Mango
Today's new food for Rylan was mango.
Rylan expressed, "Not a fan!"

I didn't steam the mango and puree it - I just tried mashing it. So I'm not sure if Rylan didn't like the taste or the texture. I'm steaming the rest of the mango now so I'll try it with him again tomorrow and see if he likes it better!

Baby Mum-Mum
Rylan tried a new food last week. Baby Mum-Mums.

Meredith had brought them along for the little ones when we went to lunch after playing at Gym Bugs. They are like rice cakes for babies.
Rylan was a huge fan the first time he had them so I picked some up the other day. They've been hit or miss since but I finally took some pictures of him eating one today.

Check out those bottom teeth!

Carter was curious what Rylan was eating ...
