It really hit me today that I hate not having a pool in the neighborhood. Carter did so amazing. He decided he could jump in, go under the water, and swim to the ladder ALL BY HIMSELF! Granted, he is wearing the swim trainer vest but that won't keep him afloat if he does nothing. But he is finally getting brave and comfortable with the water again.
Carter really looks up to Heather's daughter, Hannah. She is about 14 months older than Carter (and has red hair like him). She was doing cannonballs so he wanted to copy her. He actually got pretty good at them (and was so proud of himself - he kept telling Missy to watch him).
This is obviously not a cannonball, but shows how much fun Carter was having jumping in ...
I attempted to get a group shot of the kids jumping into the pool, but that did NOT work.
Rylan is loving the water too and jumping in to me. He's not a huge fan of putting his head under (though I made him do it a couple times by catching him lower in the water). He won't put on his swim trainer vest yet but I may force him to do it next time.
Hopefully Missy will invite us to her pool again soon :)
