Christmas

There were lots and lots of presents under our tree this year (which is normal with two little boys and visiting grandparents!).  Santa left all the presents wrapped in the light green paper in front of the tree.

The boys slept in to 6 am on Christmas morning (and yes, 6 am is sleeping in still).  When Carter got up, he didn't ask if Santa left presents.  He asked if Santa ate the cookies we left out (he was super excited about leaving those out this year).

The boys tore into Santa's presents immediately.  Both were asking if they got their Spiderman requests so I pointed them to boxes shaped like what they asked for first.

My mom was up when the boys got up and Brian's parents were awoken during the opening madness.

After Santa's gifts, we opened about half of the other presents before taking a break for breakfast (and then we opened the rest).

Carter got lots and lots and lots of Legos.  He is obsessed and we play with them all day, everyday.  Trying to keep up with all the pieces (and especially the little guys) is killing me!

We spent the day playing with all our new presents.  Brian and I got an iPad from my mom (we may be the last people in the country to get one).  I think the kids are the ones getting the most use out of it though :)

I planned out all our meals before everyone came so I got to try out lots of new recipes.  I made broiled pork tenderloin w/ gremolata, shallot-sage accordion potatoes, roasted broccoli and califlower w/ lemon and garlic, and rolls for dinner.  It all turned out pretty good - even if the boys wouldn't eat it!

Merry Christmas!  A little late :)
