Busy Day

Carter and I have a very busy day today (for us, at least)! We started off this morning walking with Sarah and Mary Grace. Since Carter is consistently getting up around 6 am lately, he needs his morning nap pretty early. The past couple of weeks he's been falling asleep on the drive to Anchor Park and then not sleeping at all on our walk. This morning we left a little early and he got in a close to 30 minute nap in the car. Carter was happier than normal during the walk and babbling away the whole time!

After our walk, Carter and I went straight to the library for Baby Bookworms. Last week was insane with about 30 kids at storytime, but we were back to the normal 15ish today. It was so much better.

I picked up some food for me on the way home and Carter fell asleep in the car again. Since he's in his new carseat, I can't just pop the carrier out and bring him in asleep anymore. So we ended up hanging out in the car again while he finished his nap. Luckily it wasn't too hot today so I could pull into the garage and turn the car off without it getting too hot in there for us.

After lunch for Carter and a little playtime we had to head back out again for my doctor's appointment. Right before we were leaving, Carter lost his grip on the chair he was holding on to and fell on his butt. Somehow though he put one of his top teeth through the inside of his bottom lip. He only screamed for a couple of minutes but he managed to bleed on over the shoulder of my shirt. So after giving him something cold to suck on and changing my shirt, we got out the door.

My doctor's appointment was just for a physical with our general practitioner and Carter did really well during the appointment. He got a little fussy a few times but did really well just hanging out in his stroller.

On the way home from the appointment, Carter fell asleep in his carseat AGAIN. This time though I got him out and was able to get him back to sleep in his crib. He took a LONG nap - over 2 hours!

We had a birthday party to go to so when Carter finally woke up, I fed him real fast and we drove over to the party for Caitlyn's 1st birthday. Here's a picture of the birthday girl:

I met Caitlyn and her mom, Amy, at Baby Bookworms several weeks ago. We got to meet Caitlyn's dad, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousin. We left around 8pm after presents but before cake because we were already past Carter's bedtime and he was getting fussy. Unfortunately Brian couldn't make it to the party because he worked late and also is feeling like he's getting sick. Hopefully he feels better in the morning!
