After soccer and baseball games yesterday, I took the kids downtown for the Broadway Bounce. For this event, kids got to dribble a basketball about 6 blocks through downtown and then finish in Tourney Town inside the new Music City Center. All the participants got a free t-shirt and basketball.
We met Suzy's family there (we all came straight from the kids baseball game). All blonde, except one ...
Since we got there right before the dribbling started, we had to wait a little for the kids in front of us to get through the starting line. The kids didn't seem to notice and had fun entertaining us with their dancing.
As we game through the starting line, we got our basketballs and took some pictures with a few mascots. I have no idea who this is!
Gnash from the Nashville Predators! I was so glad he was here because he was also at Carter's hockey program last night. He was mostly on the ice with the participants but a few of the other kids also got to meet him. Unfortunately I wasn't quick enough, and Rylan was so upset that he didn't get a picture with him. This totally made up for it!
Rylan and Hutch didn't dribble much but the other kids did almost the whole time and were pretty good!
We started at 6th Ave and Demonbreun and headed toward the rive for one block. We turned left on 5th and then left on Broadway. We continued up to 7th Ave, turned left, and then left on Demonbreun to return to where we started.
Rylan tried to dribble occasionally. It was a little hard for him with such a big ball. I only had to carry him a few times too.
Carter and Chase ...
After we finished, we went into Tourney Town for a little bit. We didn't stay long though because no one had eaten lunch (it was already 2 pm) and the lines were pretty long for everything. But we did take a few minutes to shoot some baskets.
The boys had fun and Carter asked to go dribble again today. He didn't understand why we only got to do it once. I love living in a bigger city that can attract fun events like this!
