Brentwood City Egg Hunt

My mom is here visiting for the week.  She and I took the boys to the Brentwood City Easter Egg Hunt on Thursday afternoon.  This was our third time going to the egg hunt (the first year it ended up storming and it got canceled at the last minute but last year was perfect).

Thursday was really nice.  This year the egg hunt was at 4:30 pm because school was in session the week before Easter (the last few years spring break lined up with Easter).

The egg hunt is in a large field behind the Brentwood Library.  We got there really early because Carter finished speech a little after 3 pm and I know it usually gets crowded pretty quickly.  When we arrived we did the jelly bean guess and then the boys got their faces painted.  They didn't want to get them painted at first, then they kept going back and forth on if they wanted it, and finally the decided to go for it.  We had a very indecisive 5 minutes right next to the face painters.  The boys both ended up with two Easter eggs.

Next we stood in line to see the Easter bunny.  She wasn't there yet but arrived just a few minutes after we got in line so we got to meet her after just a couple of minutes.  Last year we stood in line forever and almost missed the egg hunt to meet the Easter bunny!

We still had about 30 minutes until the egg hunt so we had snacks and played where the boys were going to start the egg hunt.  Rylan was in the 3 and under section and Carter was in the 4 to 6 year-olds section.

Suzy and her kids ended up coming so we hung out with them until it was time to start.  We also saw a bunch of the boys' friends from school there.

The boys both had no trouble filling up their buckets once they could start searching for eggs.

They each got over 50 eggs and could have easily gotten more if they had larger buckets.

The kids all had lots of fun and are looking forward to another egg hunt tomorrow!
