So we decided to drive down the road to the Westhaven community. It is a really nice neighborhood that includes homes and shopping. We parked next to the boathouse where you can rent paddle boats and canoes and fished off their tiny dock. There were also lots of ducks around to keep us company :)
When we first started off, we were casting into the water and the fish kept stealing our worms really quickly.
But then I just dropped in Rylan's hook and pulled it back out almost right away and caught a fish!
Then Rylan got one! He was SO HAPPY!!!
And then Carter got one.
Carter even threw his fish back in himself!
Carter catches number 2 ...
Then Rylan got his number 2!
That's when I stopped taking pictures. Carter ended up catching 14 fish and Rylan caught 5 (he could have caught more but he was over it at 5).
I did take two more pictures of the huge fish Carter got.
All the fish we caught were the same type and we may have caught some more than once, but there were a lot of different sizes so we definitely weren't catching the same one over and over again.
Most of the fish we caught was with the $3 cane pole. It's so simple for the boys to use.
Before leaving, Brian finally got a second to give it a try himself. We spent most of the time putting worms on hooks and taking the hooks out of fish.
