Lorikeet Landing is back open (it closes for the winter) so we decided to try feeding the birds. Usually they aren't too interested in us and it's hard to get them to eat from our cup of nectar, but not today! We were warned when entering that they were really hungry!
Carter held the cup and a bird hopped on his hand immediately.
About 15 seconds later, this happened ...
(A was able to give my phone to Rylan so he could get a picture.)
Rylan had no interest in trying to feed a bird and covered his head in fear that a bird would land on his head. Carter did great and a second bird hopped up his arm and tried to eat his shirt.
Gray wasn't really sure what to think. I took the empty nectar cup and got a bird to land on my hand and even though he didn't freak out, he seemed to prefer for the bird to go!
Next we took a carousel ride.
After lunch we visited the kangaroos. This little one must have smelled some of the food in our lunchboxes because he kept trying to dig through the bottom of Gray's stroller!
We love seeing all the big joeys hanging out of their mama's pouches!!!
We had a great time at the zoo. Gray loves seeing the animals and the big boys enjoyed it more than usual since they hadn't been there a few months. Now that it's starting to warm up, I'm hoping I can take Gray some more while the other boys are at school.
