Gardening Class at the Farmer's Market

Yesterday morning the boys had their annual field trip to the Franklin Farmer's Market with their Kids Educational Garden class.  Just like last year there were a few sprinkles but nothing too bad.

At this class the kids tour the market with Ms. Lisa and stop by several booths to get food from the farmers.  Each farmer tells the kids a little about their farm and what they grow.  Ms. Lisa buys the kids all their goodies too!

Our first stop was at a corn farmer's booth.  Both boys picked out an ear of yellow corn.  Rylan is going to be a great fisherman - he already knows how to hold his "catch" out towards the camera so it looks huge! :)

Next the kids got a squash.

The kids also got a cucumber, tomato, pepper, blueberry cookie, and container of milk.

Listening to the blueberry farmer who came to class a few weeks ago ...

Carter tried his cookie after class.  He liked it at first but near the end he said it hurt his tummy.  Rylan had one bite and almost spit it out!

Milk helped wash it down though!

Before leaving we had to get some kettle corn (the large bag barely made it 24 hours).  The boys only have a few more classes left before the class is over for the year!
