Recent Pictures

We had another really mild week this past week (our second one of the summer).  It was actually too cool to go to the pool (and not freeze) at the beginning of the week!

On Monday we went over to Heather's house to play.  She got out a few water toys, and we enjoyed her new backyard (it was our first time at her new, gorgeous house).  The kids had a massive kickball game before we left (no real rules - each kick was a homerun and sweet Hannah acted silly instead of getting the little ones out!).

On Tuesday we had gardening class but first we stopped by the Y and finally found Carter's swim team medal.  He was beyond thrilled to finally have it!

It was so nice that night that we had to take a walk around the neighborhood.  Carter wanted me to take a "selfie" of him, me, and Charlotte :)

Looking for turtles and frogs in the pond ...

On Wednesday we met another Heather with her son Maddox at the zoo.

Carter, the next "Gator Boy" ...

Petting the goats ...

The goat in the middle was still a baby and the cutest thing when it stood up (I'm usually indifferent to these guys too).

We took a carousel ride during our 4 HOURS at the zoo (I was worn out afterwards).

On Thursday we shopped the Target semi-annual toy clearance sale.  I dragged the boys around to 3 Targets that morning and spend just under $300.  We are set on Christmas presents, some birthday presents, and all our presents for friends' birthday parties for awhile.  This year the clearanced Legos made it to 70% off instead of the normal 50% off (which is only just a few anyway) so I was really excited to get those for Carter.

As a reward I took the boys swimming at the Y after all our shopping - we stayed about 1 1/2 hours before we were just too cold.  The pool was almost empty that day because it was cool.  However, we are all probably just a bunch of pansies because it still got up to 86F that day!

That night we went to the last Cheekwood Family Night Out of the summer.  This was the only one we made it too because junior swim team overlapped and then we were out of town.  Missy and Heather met us there and all their kids as well.

The performer that night was Mr. Greg's Musical Madness.  I believe this was our second time seeing him.  The kids loved him though.  They danced around and had a blast.

Rylan and Carter were the only two of the group to stick around the stage for the entire show (most of our other friends decided to roll down one of the large hills or run through the stick house instead).  I was very proud of them though for actually paying attention to the show that we had come for!

On Friday we met up with Ashley and her kids at her mother's house to swim.  Carter and Carson especially loved the "jumping board" (as my kids call it).

Next week is our last full week of summer before Carter starts kindergarten!  He had his assessment test on Thursday and then starts with a couple of half days a week later.  I can't believe summer is almost over!
