Mama Mia

We finally had another gardening class last week.  Our first one in July!  One was cancelled because of the 4th of July events at the park, we missed two when we were out of town, and one was cancelled because Ms. Lisa was sick.

Last week's class was called "Mama Mia" because Ms. Lisa harvested vegetables and herbs from the pizza garden that the kids planted earlier in the season.

The kids all got to take home some banana peppers, bell peppers, tomatoes, and cherry tomatoes.  There was also a little rosemary for a few kids.

Ms. Lisa talked a bit about all these vegetables and then the kids got to try some on a pizza (I think it came from Papa Murphy's though).

I had to pull off some of the green stuff (I wasn't sure what it was either) but they both ate the other vegetables on the pizza.  Yay for my non-veggie eaters!!!

There was no class today but the kids have their field trip on Saturday to the Farmer's Market.  Last year they got to take home lots of goodies.  Though I think Carter and Rylan are most looking forward to buying some kettle corn while we are there (I agree though that Ace's has the best kettle corn ever!!!).
