Zoo Storytime and Shopping

The Knoxville Zoo is doing a storytime twice a week during January and February so Amy and I met there today with the kids to check it out.

Carter has been fighting me when I try to put him in his carseat about half the time lately. Not this morning though! I told him we were going to the zoo and he started jumping up and down and yelling, "Zoo! Yea! Yea!"

It was a cold, drizzly day so I bundled up the boys in the stroller and we got into the zoo and to the log cabin without getting too wet. The log cabin is where they hold birthday parties and other events. It was small but large enough for the dozen kids that showed up and their moms.

The zoo volunteer read about 4 books and a zoo keeper brought in a chinchilla for the kids to pet.

Even Rylan petted the chinchilla. Luckily he didn't grab it's hair and pull!

All of our kids behaved pretty well during the books even though they were a little long for our 2 year olds. I think we'll go back again especially because it's tough to find things to do when it's cold outside. I'm still loving our zoo membership!

Because of the weather, we didn't go look at any of the animals at the zoo. I expected Carter to throw a fit, but he didn't even seem to notice.

After the zoo we met Brian for lunch and then we stopped by Target. I put Rylan in the cart for the first time today and he seemed to really like it.

Rylan is approaching the weight limit for the Bjorn carrier so it'll help that he can sit in the seat when we go grocery shopping. However, I'm not going to be able to let Carter sit in the big part of the cart then and it's going to be hard to keep him from pulling everything off the shelves!
