Cumberland Park

My mom's two week visit ended today (we had a lot of fun while she was here!) and the boys and I took her to the airport this morning.  Since we were already downtown, I decided to take the boys to storytime at the Nashville Library.  We had some time to kill so I decided to check out the new Cumberland Park with them.  It's located adjacent to the Titan's stadium and on the river (we parked in one of the stadium lots).

There were only two other woman at the park taking pictures so the kids pretty much had it to themselves.  The fountains and other water features don't start running until 11 am but we had fun exploring everything else.

Unfortunately I forgot to put my memory card back in my camera so I had to take pictures with my phone (which does not have the best camera).

There is a hilly astroturf area with some play equipment between the hills.

Carter liked the cargo net climbing area.  He didn't need any help at all.

There are two climbing walls - a tall one and this short one.

With a little assistance, Carter was able to get off the ground.

Carter pointing out LP Field ...

There are really pretty trails through the park that are fun to explore.

It was hard to pull the boys away but I eventually bribed them with a snack and we headed to the library.

The boys love the puppet segments at storytime.  The performance is pretty much the same every time we go but the kids don't seem to mind.  They pay attention the whole time and laugh at the puppets.

After storytime we ran a bunch of errands, including returning books at the Williamson County Library.  This is the library we go to the least but is the only one we can actually check books out at.  While I was picking out books, the boys listened to a Mercer Mayer book on the computers.

You might notice that Carter looks a lot like he did in the pictures from yesterday.  He insisted on wearing his tie-dyed shirt again today.  Hopefully he'll let me wash it tomorrow!  Here are a couple of pictures from yesterday with the tie-dyed shirts that the kids wore when we went bowling.
