Libraries and Birthday Party

On Thursday morning we went to the downtown Nashville library to see a magician with Heather and her kids.  We usually park in a deck attached to the library and get the first 90 minutes free since the library validates parking.  However, the deck was completely full (maybe because of the rain or something else going on downtown I didn't know about) and we ended up searching for parking for 20 minutes.  I eventually found some metered spots a few blocks away.  We got inside just as the show was supposed to start but apparently the magician also couldn't find parking and we had to wait a little bit.

Once the show started, the magician was entertaining and Carter thought parts of it were really funny.

The most entertaining part for them was probably the juggling.

When the show was over, we raced back to the car to get to Rylan's 12 pm appointment at our pediatrician's office for his Hepatitis A shot that he couldn't get at his checkup.

We got there in time and Rylan did awesome.  The nurse had me hold Rylan on my lap and he just whimpered a little.  He did point at his band-aid randomly during the day and say "ooowwww".

After naps we headed over to the Franklin Library for another program.  This one was about dream catchers.  A local Native American came to tell the kids about dream catchers.

Then some of the kids got to play instruments while the rest of us danced.

After we got to go to the room next door and make dream catchers.

Carter wanted his dream catcher hung up so it's now hanging above his bed (but is about to be moved since he's getting a new bed on Monday!).

After making the dream catchers, we headed over to Monkey Joe's for Riley's 5th birthday party.  The party was supposed to be at a park but had to be changed last minute since it rained all day on Thursday.  Even though there were a lot of big kids at Monkey Joe's (we usually go when school is in), no one got run over or hurt.  It helped with my mom here because then we could split up and each watch one of the boys.

Will and Carter are crazy!

Monkey tattoos!

The kids got pizza and cake in the party room.

Riley, the birthday girl, got her own blow-up throne.

The pink monkey even came by for a visit!

Thursday was a full day for us but lots of fun!
