Daisy Update

On Saturday, one week after we had planted the daisy seeds, this is what they looked like.  Carter is always very excited to check on them and see how many have sprouted.

When I was at Target last week, they had some of the stuff in their dollar section half off (because $1 isn't cheap enough, I feel like I'm getting a deal at $0.50 :) ).

So I picked up basil and cilantro growing kits.

Each packet came with a little greenhouse, seeds, and growing medium.

I let the boys put the kits together themselves (somewhat).  Carter picked the cilantro and Rylan picked the basil.

I still think it is so neat how quickly the growing mediums absorb water!

We set the greenhouses up next to the daisy pot on the window sill in the family room.

I had really wanted to start an outdoor garden with the boys but I'm glad we didn't do it this year.  It has been too hot and we are under mandatory water restrictions because of the drought.  For now, this indoor garden works for me!
