Today's Activities

We broke out the Fourth of July gear this morning.  Carter wore his glasses on and off all day while Rylan wasn't as big of a fan.

We started the morning off by going to storytime at the Brentwood Library.  Today's craft was sheep bracelets.  They were very cute!

Next we went to get Carter's hair cut.  I found a coupon for a cut at Snip Its (a chain for children's haircuts).  I like the barber shop we usually go to but they charge $14 plus tip.  My coupon was for $9.99 and Snip Its is more convenient so I decided to give them a try.

The wait was long but the boys were entertained by the firetruck that showed up.  I'm not sure how it happened but the woman parked right outside the shop had locked her young kids in the car.  It was hot today but thankfully not as bad as last week!

Carter said Snip Its is cool and his favorite place to get his hair cut.

After you get your hair cut, you get a card to put in this machine for a prize.

Carter got this little dinosaur that he's been obsessed with all day.

The girl that cut Carter's hair did a great job and we'll be returning as long as I have another coupon (they are normally $16.99 for a cut).

Next we went bowling.  Today we tried out the mini bowling area.  They have tiny balls with no finger holes, smaller lanes, and no bowling shoes are needed.  There is a light that turns green when you can go and the pins are attached to strings that raise and lower them.  With the kids bowl free program this summer, they get half off one game in the mini bowl area.  So it cost $1.50 each for them to bowl.

The boys (mainly Carter this time) started getting tired of bowling after about 6 frames but they still had a blast.  I'm not sure if they liked these lanes or the regular ones better.  But these required a lot less work on my part since they could do more on their own and I didn't have to worry about one of them getting in other people's way.

Carter ended up winning but it could have just as easily been Rylan.

After bowling we went grocery shopping and then home for naps.  Rylan fell asleep on the way home but I assumed I'd be able to move him to his crib and he'd fall back to sleep.  Unfortunately that didn't happen.  Luckily he didn't have any major melt downs this evening because he really needs some sleep during the day with how little he gets at night!
