First the kids got to squish tomatoes to get their seeds. Some kids hit them so hard they got squirted in the face with tomato juice and seeds! Most kids got at least a little on their shirts.
Then the kids got to throw bean bags with the watermelon seed holes to win packets of seeds to plant in the spring.
Ms. Lisa got all the kids together for a group photo that will go on the Franklin Farmers Market website.
On top of the normal juice boxes at the end of class, the kids also got blueberry muffins. Something they love and will actually eat!!!
All the kids also got a bag of goodies from the farmers market to take home.
We are sad that this was our last class, but we plan on attending the program again next year. Ms. Lisa said they are applying for state money for next year and hope to make the program bigger and better!
