Labor Day Saturday

On Saturday evening we went over to Missy's house for dinner.  She had us as well as Heather and Jen's families over.  We were planning on going to the fireworks at Harlinsdale Farm that night but everyone else bailed due to tired kiddos (the city of Franklin was finally doing their 4th of July fireworks that had been rained out earlier in the summer).

The kids all sat together at the tiny picnic table in the screened porch for dinner (L to R: Dowden, Chase, Hannah, Rylan, Will, Luke, & Carter).

They also gathered there for dessert (this time Lewis joined them!)

The kids played in the yard for almost 2 hours and were completely filthy by the time we left.  They had so much fun though.  Carter told us later that night that it had been the funnest day ever!

We left Missy's house around 8:15 and parked in a church parking lot next to BGA.  We sat down on our blankets on the grass just as the fireworks started.

We had a great view and absolutely no traffic leaving and driving home (always a plus, especially when the boys still needed baths from playing outside).  And we were far enough away that Rylan wasn't concerned at all about how loud the fireworks were!
