After going for a family run early in the morning (we brought our double jogger along), we headed down to the beach for a few hours.
Carter enjoyed collecting seaweed for awhile. Most of it stayed in the water but there was some that had washed up on the beach.
I tried to take a picture of all the seaweed in the water but this picture doesn't do it justice. There is the brown stuff Carter was collecting as well as slimy green seaweed.
The boys were braver and got into the water a little more on Monday.
Brian was moving around some sand and came across a ghost crab!
It scurried all around our stuff, walked through our tent, and eventually dug itself a hole under our bag of beach toys. It appeared to be carrying around eggs under it's belly.
Once when the water from the waves went back out, I noticed little clams digging themselves back into the sand. I remembered that I use to catch these when I was little and it became a new pastime for the kids and me. We would cover the bottom of a bucket with all the little clams we got. We kept them in water and watched them all come out of their shells.

Brian is definitely more creative than me with his sandcastles.
The boys drove their trucks through this tunnel until they collapsed it.
We went back to our house for lunch and then went straight to the pool. The boys had so much fun jumping to Brian - they never got tired of it. They would jump to him and then swim back to the ladder. It took Rylan a little while the first day to remember how to swim with the puddle jumper but he was great after that and could swim all over the pool.
Eventually the thunder did start up and we headed back to the house. We cleaned up and turned on the TV for a little bit so the boys could have some quiet time. It didn't take long for Rylan to pass out ... on the floor.
Once Rylan was awake, we drove over to Rosemary Beach for dinner.
We decided on Cowgirl Kitchen.
It took this kid quite awhile to fully wake up. Luckily the restaurant had a TV on with a replay of an NFL game for him to watch.
This kiddo though was ready to go :)
We had a yummy dinner of drunken shrimp tacos and "The Local" pizza that we all shared.
After dinner we explored Rosemary. The boys played on the "Western Green" ...
And then we went out onto the beach.
I got a rare picture of me with the boys :)
Someone had made this cool sea turtle in the sand (amazing I was able to keep the boys from messing it up).
After the beach we went to The Sugar Shak for a few sweets. They sell extremely overpriced basic candy but it's a stop you must make while in Rosemary :)
And then it was back to our beach house and off to bed!
