I'm really behind on posting pictures from my phone, but here they are!
A few weeks ago the Lowe's Build and Grow was Dusty from the movie Planes. The boys also built El Chupacabra last weekend but I didn't take pictures of that one.
On Tuesday before we left for the beach, Suzy invited us to go swimming with her, Chase, and Hutch. We had some passing light rain showers that lasted a few minutes but the boys barely seemed to notice. This swimming in the rain was good practice for our beach vacation when we did it more than once.
We had a playdate the next day with Missy, Heather, and Suzy's kids at Granny White Park. The kids have way more fun playing with sticks than the playground equipment.
"How many sticks can we put in this tree???"
I went running on the greenway after our playdate and the kids got to play on the stepping stones in the Little Harpeth River since the water was so low. We usually use a bridge a hundred feet away to get to the River Park parking lot but this is way more fun :)
The following day we went to the Williamson County Library to checkout new books and happened to be there for storytime. It's my least favorite library storytime, but it's still something to do.
When we drove to the beach, we dropped Charlotte off at the kennel on our way out. She had to sit on top of the giant bag of beach toys at the boys feet. Actually, only her back paws were on the toys - her front paws were on the armrest between the two front seats.
Rylan found Brian's NCSU skullcap (for under his bike helmet). I think it's a good look for him :)
We met up with Missy and her kids at Crockett Park on Monday. When we sat down to eat lunch, Luke and Carter were getting into each other's faces (in a friendly, happy way) saying "cookie, cookie, cookie" and Luke ended up giving Carter kisses (though I think Carter did the first one). It was a little odd, but really cute.
On Friday I took the kids to the downtown library to see the play "Tall Tale Circus". Instead of using marionettes, the librarians acted and sang. The play told the stories of Pecos Bill, Calamity Jane, John Henry, and Johnny Appleseed. It was really, really good.
After the play we headed to the splashground at Cumberland Park (it closes for the summer on Monday). It was so hot and felt so good in the water. I swear the boys had fun though they look like they hate me in this picture!
I've still been keeping up with my long runs for the marathon. This weekend I was supposed to run a half-marathon but there weren't any in the area so I just ran the 13.1 on the greenway. It was hot and humid even at 7 am but I did okay.
