Carter put everything he had behind his swings at the pinata.
Rylan wasn't as aggressive but had just as much fun!
We met our friends at Granny White Park on Monday. There was a conference on the dinosaurs ...
Yesterday I finished up a project we've been working on the last couple of weekends. We built a bed around our fence gate last fall. It did great through the winter but once we started getting heavy rains this spring, the mulch would wash out into the grass. We tried building a small dry creek bed to force the water through one area but there just wasn't enough slope and the mulch continued to wash out. So we expanded our rock area. We just spread out the rocks we used for the dry creek bed and filled in the area with several bags of rock from Lowe's. In addition, the drainage areas for our AC units were clogging up and overflowing creating a muddy mess. We extended the PVC pipes into this new rocky area. We dug a huge hole and filled it with drainage rock for the water to drain into (and then covered it up with the nice rock). So far, so good. And we had one decent rain and all the remaining mulch stayed in place (as did the rocks).
Today Rylan and I met Maddox and Heather at the zoo. The boys had fun hanging out (and petting some kangaroos!).
Carter brought alligators for show-and-tell during "A" week. Last week was "B" week and everyone brought a bear for a bear hunt (Carter brought the giant polar bear he also brought last year for the teddy bear picnic). For show-and-tell tomorrow, Carter is bringing Charlotte (actually just pictures of her). He is very excited to show everyone his dog!
