Baseball Update

Lil Sluggers has still been going well.  The kids practice some of the same basic skills each class (like hitting off the tee) and then also attempt a few new things.  Now that the kids have learned to properly field the ball, throw it, and hit off the tee, they are starting to combine the skills to learn how to play the game.  One drill that is fun is the kids set up at the infield positions, their is a pop-up soccer goal at first base, and one kid hits the ball off the tee.  After the hitter hits, he runs the bases while the others field the ball and throw it into the soccer goal.  Then they all rotate over one position.

There are still 3 classes (out of 8) left.  I really think Carter likes it still.  Brian has even been able to make it to about half the classes now that he works out of the house and for a company on Eastern time (the baseball class is at 3pm on Fridays).

Two weeks ago the kids learned how to slide.  They each got 3 tries and the last one was Carter's best (he obviously needs more practice).

Last week the kids attempted to play catch for a few minutes.  I don't think any throw/catch was successful, but the kids learned how to do it at least!
