Rockets Soccer

Carter's soccer season ended last Monday (May 6th).  Our last two games (which are on Saturdays) got rained out.  We made up the first one on Monday and the coach for the other team didn't want to make up the second game.

After the game on Monday, we celebrated the end of the season with cupcakes that I brought and I handed out the participation trophies to all the kids.  Thank goodness for all that because we were completely blown out on both fields!  The kids on my field just weren't really into it (I actually had to tell Carter to stop picking flowers while the ball was in play!!!).  Hopefully the boys remember the cupcakes and trophies instead!

Carter is very proud of his "gold trophy" (last season they were silver).  Right now, when given the choice of a color to pick, he chooses golden :)

I'm planning on coaching again in the fall.  Right now, the plan is for Brian to coach Carter's team and for me to coach Rylan's team, if that lines up with the needs of the Y for coaches and Brian's work schedule.  I now have a pretty good list of games/drills for practices that the kids seem to enjoy.  But I need to figure out some new strategies to keep the kids' attention during the games and get them more aggressive (without being too physical).  Time to do some more reading and internet searching!!!  Fall season begins in August!
