I tried to get a picture of the boys before we left the house but Rylan wanted to wear this hat and Carter wanted to hug the tree :)
I tried again to grab some pictures outside of school.
Carter and I (and even Rylan) really love Ms. Anne. She was different from his teachers the year before, but equally as amazing. I hope he gets just as lucky next year!
For her end of year gift, we made Ms. Anne the same thing we made Carter's teachers last year (and his speech teacher this year). Maybe I'll get more creative next year!
Ms. Anne put this really nice thank you note in Carter's bag.
It says:
Thank you so much for the sweet picture. It will go well in our play room!
I loved every minute of Carter. Honestly fell for him in our first five minutes! He's a treasure!
Have a great summer! Hope our paths cross again soon!
Also in Carter's bag on the last day was a gift card from one of his classmates.
Quinn is the youngest of 5 kids and her parents are just so generous!
Carter had lots of stuff from Ms. Anne for the summer too. She made each of them a book to practice writing their letters and numbers.
Carter wanted to do his homework as soon as we got home that last day of school!
Ms. Anne also made one of these very special bags for all the kids in the class.
The fish is each child's handprint. I LOVE it!
And there was one more Mother's Day gift sent home on the last day - a necklace that each kid decorated. Very sweet :)
Unfortunately I never really got to know Rylan's teachers. Parents walk the kids to their classrooms everyday at our school (we don't have a dropoff line) and are usually welcome in the room at dropoff and pickup. This has made it really easy for me to get to know Carter's teachers, the other parents, and the kids. The lead teacher in Rylan's class (Ms. Jayne) preferred that we never cross the threshold, ever. But when she wasn't there, Ms. Karen told us to come in but we always felt like we were going to get in trouble if Ms. Jayne found out :)
I still feel like Rylan had a good experience this year, learned a few things, and made great friends. He grew very much socially. I'm looking forward though to next year when I'll hopefully get a better idea of what he's doing at school and how he's interacting with the other kids.
For Rylan's teachers, I collected money from all the moms in his class and we were able to get each teacher a gift certificate for a mani/pedi and a $120 Visa gift card.
Rylan's teachers gave us each a photo album with pictures of the kids from the year (which I did a separate post on).
We have lots to look forward to this summer - vacations and visits, swimming, fun evenings at Cheekwood, amazing library programs, and so much more. We are going to be busy!
