Easter Basket Hunt

The kids had so much fun doing the scavenger hunt that the leprechaun did for St. Patrick's Day that the Easter Bunny decided to do one for their Easter baskets.

He left a note and Easter egg on the chair in the family room.

The note said:

Hippity, Hoppity!  Happy Easter!

Hello, Rylan and Carter!!!

Before you look for Easter eggs that I've hidden for you outside,

you need to find a gift I hid for you inside of your house. 

To help you find your gift, I've left you clues.

Look inside this egg for your first clue!

Love - The Easter Bunny

(P.S. Eat breakfast before you go outside

so you have lots of energy to hunt eggs!)

Here were the clues and hiding places!

Go to where your doggie keeps her toys.

Go to where you keep food cold.

Go to where you can find Buzz Lightyear, Nemo, Lightning McQueen, and Alex the Lion.

Go to where you have logs to build little houses.

Go to where you keep lots of hats.

Go to the place you sit when you are going to school.

The boys did great with figuring out the clues.  I think Rylan even figured out at least one before Carter did.

Finding their Easter baskets bags in the car ...

The boys each got a Spiderman umbrella, a pirate dress-up set, a Tag Reader book, and two Imaginext playsets.

Ever since the sword that Carter got at Cooper's birthday party back in Knoxville got broken, he has been asking for me to get him a new one.  Now both boys have one, as well as more pirate dress-up stuff.  So far there have been no major sword fights!

The Easter Bunny also covered our front door and side windows with construction paper and left a note for the boys saying, "No Peeking!!!  Love the Easter Bunny".  This allowed him to hide the eggs during breakfast!
