We Have Poop!

Rylan has not really been interested in potty training and since he's stubborn as can be, I have not been pushing it at all.  I've put out the potty chair and occasionally will ask him if he wants to try to go and he'll always say no.  There were a few times when I first got it out that Rylan wanted to try to go on it when Carter was going, but he lost interest quickly.

Since Rylan is only going to preschool 2 days a week next year instead of 3, he will technically still be in PDO (Parent's Day Out) and not need to be potty trained.  Still, I have been planning to work on it with him this summer.

This afternoon when we got home, Rylan was doing his usual hanging out in the dining room and coloring and telling everyone, "Don't look at me."  This means he wants some privacy because he's pooping.  Lately he'll add, "I'm going poopy."

Carter went into the bathroom to pee and Rylan followed him in.  Carter then came to get me to tell me that Rylan wanted his diaper off so he could use the potty.  I took it off for him and he sat on the potty chair.  I told Rylan he needed to push and he stayed on the potty chair about 30 seconds before giving up.  But when he stood up, there was poop!

Rylan was excited but then really embarrassed by the clapping and cheering.  But he did it!  We still don't have a first pee in the potty, but we have a first poop!
