Zoo

The boys and I met Missy with both her boys and Lauren with Vaughn at the zoo this morning.  It was a perfect day to go except for the thousands of kids there with school groups!  We got there early and were able to avoid the crowds for awhile.

We saw Lyla from Carter's preschool class in the Jungle Gym.  They played together the whole time we were in the playground.  Carter kept telling me the rest of the day that he wanted to play with Lyla more because he doesn't get to play with her at school since she's always playing with Maddie and Sarah Kate (Maddie is a little bossy about who plays with her and apparently doesn't let Carter play with her group a lot).

Next we went to the carousel.

Then we fed the lorikeets.  Carter did this once with my mom a long time ago while I watched a sleeping Rylan but that's the only time we've been into Lorikeet Landing.  I thought my boys would be too scared and drop their cups as soon as a bird got near them but after a minute of being skittish, they loved it!  They successful held onto their cups until they were empty and each fed several birds.

Then we walked around and saw some animals before going to the recently redone Petting Zoo.

This is Vaughn with Rylan - he's about Carter's age and Lauren's youngest son.

We headed out as it started to sprinkle.  We had lot of fun even though we only saw a few animals!
